CHEVELLE SS 1969

FOREWORD

For 1969, the SS 396 became an option package on all Chevelles. Therefore, it was possible for the SS 396 package on everything from the Malibu sport coupe (the most popular) and convertible to the Chevelle 300-series hardtop coupe and columns, and the El Camino pick up. All Chevelles has a new style that includes new taillights. The 396 came in 325, 350, and 375bhp tune but still suffered from inadequate treatment of four connection speeds. Towards the end of 1969, the model, the 396 bored out to 402 cubic engines, reportedly to meet new emission standards. The official name and power have not changed and the Chevelle SS remained one of the most popular muscle car era. Of particular interest to drag the drivers has been the availability 'of a number of limited edition Chevelles. Known as COPO Chevelles, these Chevelle were specially ordered from the factory by certain dealers or well-connected customers with standard L72 427 V8 rated at 425bhp. An estimated 323 Chevelle COPO 427S were built, all of which were often devoid of badges or other indications of the power that resided underneath.

Engines: 396 V8 325bp @ 4800rpm, £ 410-ft @ 3200rpm. L34 396 V8 350bhp @ 5200rpm, £ 415-ft @ 3600. L78 396 V8 375bhp @ 5600rpm, £ 415-ft @ 3600 rpm. COPO 427 V8 425bhp @ 5600rpm, £ 460-ft @ 4000 rpm.

Performance: L78 396/375: 0-60 in 6.5 sec, 1 / 4 mile in 14.5 sec @ 100 mph.

Performance: COPO 427/425: 0-60 in 5.1 sec, 1 / 4 mile in 13.3 sec @ 108 mph.

Per il 1969, la SS 396 è diventato un pacchetto di opzione su tutti i Chevelles. Restored for a friend, Frank had his hands a  fresh model of Chevy... repainted "Le Mans Blue poly," perhaps one of the most popular '69,with  black vinyl roof,very cool..

Restaurata per un amico, Frank aveva per le mani un mezzo fresco, riverniciata “Le Mans Blue poly”, forse uno dei più popolari per il ’69, tetto in vinile nero...

 black interior makes this car almost stock, but for 4 rims to make it crag that much of what sports is not already...the dice..a Frank touch

Il motore, un 396 con 375 hp e cambio a 4 rapporti ..qui Frank ha aggiunto una centralina di potenza MSD che non ci è dato di sapere quale potenza scateni! I misteri di Frank!

Frank presents a special job for a customer .... a Chevy year  1950 ... did not find in a junkyard but it took  from his friend...a classic cars  dealer  ...find in a discrete conditions  but to redone under  the request of customer ...

Here we see the new cardinal red leather interior, Brand new with all the interior redone...the carpet was placed with a grey color under request...were mounted electric windows you can see the controls on the door panel ..

Qui vediamo il nuovo interno in pelle "rosso cardinale", nuovo di zecca con tutti gli interni rifatti ... il tappeto è stato posto con un colore grigio su richiesta ...sono stati montati vetri elettrici si può intravedere i comandi sul pannello porta..essendo appena restaurato Frank ha montato anche le cinture di sicurezza rosse come il sedile...tono su tono...

CAMARO SS 396 1968

FOREWORD

Chevy introduced its successful drive Camaro built in 1967 and rated on a platform "Nova" by creating a "pony car" to them and other manufacturers in particular to rival the Ford Mustang. To make the car attractive options were available about 80 works by more than 40 dealer; 4 engines were available (there 283-302-327-396) and 3 different types of construction RS/SS/Z28 first two could be "mixed" supplied with the order by buying a RS RS SS but had priority.

The "body" was available in both coupe and convertible.

Comments: The 1968 has received minor changes for the second year. The grid has assumed a more horizontal, while the windows were removed, and mouth "Astro Ventilation" (ie, flow through ventilation) was added. The side marker lamps are added, while the SS396 received revised chrome cap (the style was SS350s 1967). Below, the 1967 Camaro annoying tramp pin was treated with the addition of multi-leaf rear springs to replace the units and single leaf rear shock absorbers are now staggered. A new 350bhp 396cid option for the SS was added.

Chevy introdusse la sua auto di successo Camaro nel 1967 costruita e dimensionata su una piattaforma “Nova”creando una “Pony car” alla stregua delle altre case costruttrici soprattutto per rivaleggiare con la Ford Mustang. Per rendere appetibile la vettura erano disponibili circa 80 opzioni di fabbrica più 40 da concessionario; erano disponibili 4 motori (283-302-327-396 c.i.) e 3 diversi tipi di allestimento RS/SS/Z28 i primi due potevano essere “mischiati” all’ordine comprando una RS con dotazione SS ma l’RS aveva la priorità.

Il “body” era disponibile sia coupè sia convertibile.
Osservazioni: Il 1968 ha ricevuto modifiche di lieve entità per il secondo anno. La griglia ha assunto un aspetto più orizzontale, mentre la bocca finestre sono state eliminate e "Astro ventilazione" (cioè il flusso attraverso la ventilazione) è stato aggiunto. Le luci di posizione laterali sono stati aggiunti, mentre la SS396 ricevuto rivisto cappuccio inserti cromati (i SS350s rimasto con lo stile 1967). Sotto, il 1967 Camaro fastidiosi tramp perno è stato curato con l'aggiunta di multi-posteriore molle a balestra a sostituire le unità singola foglia e ammortizzatori posteriori sono ora scaglionati. Un nuovo 350bhp 396cid opzione per la SS è stato aggiunto.

 the interior was totally replaced with a two tone tissue...and special floor mats racing design...

 not to mention the exhaust "Flowmaster" 2 inch, a slight lift to the rear deck and you're done! With this 396 special head "Edelbrock" under the hood is almost hard to keep it on the road!,




per non parlare degli scarichi "Flowmaster" da 2 pollici, un rialzo  leggero al ponte posteriore ed il gioco è fatto! Con quella 396  con teste speciali "Edelbrock" sotto il cofano è quasi difficile tenerla in strada!,

 Frank has also replaced the hood with one of the following year (1969), however, widespread action in the States, black rally stripes complement the touch of Frank... American racing wheels completed the wheels to do their part and Hoosier Racing tires are good grip..


Frank ha anche sostituito il cofano con uno dell' anno seguente 1969 , tuttavia, pratica molto  diffusa negli States, rally stripes nere completano il tocco di Frank.Cerchi "american racing"  completato le ruote e fanno la loro parte gomme Hoosier Racing...
